WP Remix 2.0 has finally been released and I got a sneak preview as part of the Beta Testers. The first time I discovered WPRemix I was pretty psyched, but there were many features that were lacking. The NEW version is amazing, and really blew me away at how easy it is to turn Wordpress into a CMS.

I created a video review of WPRemix 2.0 for you to see exactly how advanced the new version is.

OLD VERSION

  • No way to use the wysiwyg with anything but blog posts
  • Can’t use same template twice unless you copy it
  • Not enough flexibility for sidebars and headers

NEW VERSION

  • One click upload to WYSIWYG
  • Three times the templates
  • 5 Headers and 7 Sidebar Templates
  • Cleaner CSS Files

If you like what you see and want to learn more go check out WPRemix 2

Question about this theme…In some wordpress forums people have commented that creating lots of page templates for your theme “slows it down.” Any thoughts?

It does slow it down, but not significantly. You can’t build a HUGE website, but anything from 10 to 50 pages runs very smoothly.

We’ve been very happy with the theme. Wordpress is obviously the ultimate web platform and the theme takes advantage of all it’s features. I’ve heard people talk about adaptability and functionality, but a little time and tweaking is all it takes. We recently launched our new site and it is entirely done with WPREMIX. Give it a spin. Happy New Year Everyone.

I see all these layouts that come with it but why cant you build your own? To be limited to choose from that list of layouts is pretty bad. We end up with a bunch of sites that look like each other. Take AccuNOC IT’s website…it screams template. No offense mate but there are much better solutions out there that dont require you to use prebuilt templates.
