WP Remix 2 has finally been released and I got a sneak preview as part of the Beta Testers. The first time I discovered WPRemix I was pretty psyched, but there were many features that were lacking. Some of the things that bothered me included:

OLD VERSION

  • No way to use the wysiwyg with anything but blog posts
  • Can’t use same template twice unless you copy it
  • Not enough flexibility for sidebars and headers

NEW VERSION

  • One click upload to WYSIWYG
  • Three times the templates
  • 5 Headers and 7 Sidebar Templates
  • Cleaner CSS Files

I created a video review of WPRemix for you to see exactly how advanced the new version is.

If you like what you see and want to learn more go check out WPRemix 2

Question about this theme…In some wordpress forums people have commented that creating lots of page templates for your theme “slows it down.” Any thoughts?

It does slow it down, but not significantly. You can’t build a HUGE website, but anything from 10 to 50 pages runs very smoothly.
