Wordpress is one of the best most flexible tools out there for SEO’s hands down. If you are trying to build a legit site and not get into super black hat BS, wordpress will create SEO friendly pages and content. Despite this fact there are still a few things that you want to tweek to help get the most from your Wordpress Site and reap the benefits of top Google Rankings.
Below I will outline the very basics of Wordpress SEO strategy when setting up wordpress. Most of you will think this is pretty simple stuff, so don’t fret I will show some more advanced strategies in the near future. Enjoy.

Make sure your blog has keywords in the title
If you can include keywords in your URL title as well
Settings >> General
Add keyword rich tagline
Make sure always redirected to www version
Don’t force people to register to comment, more comments equals more content
Setting >> Writing
Add any pings you wish to let services get notified of new posts
Setting >> Reading
Pick weather you want your blog to appear on your homepage or a static page
Show 5 pages at most, this way you can create more pages across your whole site
Syndication if you are going to let full post be syndicated make sure to link back to your own content to get backlinks from scrapers
Settings >> Discussion
Add stop words to limit the amount of comments to sort through (also get API Key from Wordpress)
Settings >> Privacy
Make sure your blog is not private and available to search engines
Settings >> Permalinks
Make sure to have keywords in your URL
Create Custom Structure to fit your site
Category Base should be named based on your content and include keywords
Dido for Tag Base
BONUS: Forgot to put this in the video. Make sure under Users you create a name for yourself so it doesn’t show up as “admin.” As always throw some keywords in there.
